Modesta is praying for a new job. She has lived in the US for over thirty years, but her English is still rather wobbly. After seventeen years of marriage, venture capitalist Mark Portman finally agrees to the idea of hiring a cleaning lady. He wants his wife Jane to know he supports her fitness regimen and other hobbies. Or could it be because she suspects he is cheating? The Portmans find Modesta and a special friendship seems to develop between Jane and Modesta.
