2025/2026 Main Stage Season​​ Submissions

At the core of the Ring's Season are the MainStage productions, typically 7 to 10 plays which run for a total of two or three weekends and are included in our subscription packages.

While a few titles may be scouted, commissioned or selected directly by the Players’ Ring, your best opportunity to have your proposed original work or published work considered for the Season is by submitting it through the annual submission process via the online Google Form and pitching it at the “Ring Toss” Live Event. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet and network with fellow theatre makers, and discover what’s cooking in the hearts and minds of other  local artists.

How to submit: 

• Complete the Ring Toss submission form below.  Please be as detailed as possible. Attach a PDF of the piece you are submitting. Deadline for submission is January 8 , 2025, at 23.59 PM.
   

• The next step is to pitch your piece at the “Ring Toss” Event on Sunday January 19, 2025 from 10:00 am to 1:00pm at the Ring at 105 Marcy Street in Portsmouth. For the consideration of all involved, please be prepared to keep pitches to a tight 2 minutes. We will share more details regarding the pitch closer to the event date. Please note that while in-person attendance is strongly encouraged and does represent an advantage in the evaluation process, out-of-state submissions are welcome. If attending the “RingToss” is not at all possible, please mention it in the submission form.
   

• After that, Ring Artistic Committee members, with the support of a group of readers. will evaluate every submission. At this link you will find more information about our vision for the Season and evaluation criteria. During this time you might be contacted to clarify or discuss certain aspects of your proposal and - if your piece is shortlisted - possible scheduling options. 

 

• A final selection will be presented to the Ring’s Board of Directors for approvals. Presenters should expect a final response by April 20, 2025 and - in case of inclusion in the Season - should be ready to supply marketing materials within one week. 

 

• The target date for the MainStage Season Announcement is May 14, 2025.
