The small (big) change

Toilet door lock

WHY are you sending me the photo of a lock? You ask.

Well.
For seven years, I’ve watched patrons go through the same awkward ritual: the hesitation, the knock, is anyone in there? And I have done nothing about it.

Why?

It may have something to do with the fact that I am the least handy person in the world.
Replacing a toilet lock felt like a big project.

Until I finally took a moment to text Ken and Laurie*.

—Can we actually do it?
—Piece of cake.

Three days later, it was taken care of.

I am elated. And I wonder:
How many tiny things are stalling in our lives—things we’ve tuned out for years—that might only take a minute to fix, if we simply asked for help?

So, yes.

If you hear fewer apologetic knocks in the lobby these days… that’s growth :)

From my Ring-shaped heart,

Margherita
