An Empty Sky

A Staged Reading
October 27, 2026

Written by Joshua Faigen. Directed by Leslie Pasternack.

“An Empty Sky” depicts a love relationship struggling to blossom in a time of political strangeness nearly devoid of hope.

In a small New England church, a disgraced clergy woman and a Jewish piano tuner build a fragile haven. But how long can they hold onto it?

“An Empty Sky” tenderly grapples with many current themes in an imaginative and humane way.

Following the reading, the audience is invited to remain for a moderated conversation designed to provide constructive feedback to the playwright. Your observations, questions, and impressions become an important part of the play’s development and help shape its next draft.
