For years and years the museum in the rural town of Dix has celebrated its history with a day of tableaux, with the townspeople playing the characters – usually. When the new executive’s mother joins in from the big city, things change, both for her and for tableau regular Addie. Dix Tableaux, by Stephen Dunn, explores the friendship that develops between the two women over ten years, as their lives change and the tableaux become more spectacular.
