Tennessee Williams' 1961 play is a rich study in character
contrasts, set at a rundown Mexican hotel - where an alcoholic
ex-clergyman locks horns with the establishment's bawdy manager, a
teenaged "Lolita," and "the world's oldest living poet," accompanied by
his middle-aged granddaughter. Secrets and lies, dreams and delusions
challenge and alter them all, in this moving drama.
This is the first full-length Tennessee Williams'
play to be presented at The Players' Ring. |
