StarCrossed
 by S A Shipley
directed by Billy Butler

Several versions of Romeo and Juliet's story were written both before and after Shakespeare decided to pen a play about the couple.  But now comes a new work that addresses an intriguing question -- What monumental event could have caused the Montague-Capulet feud in the first place? Why was it not whispered about in Romeo and Juliet's own time? And why does the secret make you gasp as the truth unfolds?

StarCrossed is funny, poignant, and appropriately bawdy. The characters, of course, are ones we associate with Shakespeare's work.  But the playwright, who studied under William Gibson, has her own lively and distinctive style, leading to an ending too clever and startling for us to give away.  We will guarantee you this, however.  You won't ever think of Romeo and Juliet in the same way again.
